They are still cutting old growth forest down in Tasmania, it's hard to figure out how they justify this when just a few miles down the road is world heritage forest that isn't being logged, I wonder how many members of the Tasmanian Labour party have shares in Guns ( Tasmania's forestry giants ) I guess the truth will eventually surface, why chop down 400 year old trees and sell the wood pulp to the Japanese for paper pulp when there are some very good alternatives out there Hemp for one.
I can see both sides of the arguments, however the young bloke that is manning the forest blockade is dedicated to say the least, it must get very cold out in the forest however the protester's camp there come rain, hail or even snow. The young fellow who showed me around was very articulate and polite I certainly do admire there dedication and passion.
Tomorrow I am off to Queenstown, the Aussie Motor Cyclist atlas rates this as the best ride in Australia, all 285 Km of it so I will let you all know tomorrow.

Steve, if your going to queenstown don't eat the chips, unless you like red fried toe nail clippings. Love Ann
