Mt Feilds National Park

What a beautiful Day 27 degrees in Hobart today and not a cloud in the sky. I had intended to ride to Strathgordon and lake Pedder today, however I decided to call into Mt field National Park, and I am so Glad I did.

I decided to do a walk through the bush and tackled the Russell falls and tall trees walk, I arrived at the National park at 1030 am and it took my close to 1 and a half hours to do the walk, so by the time I had lunch it was 2pm and a little late in the afternoon to undertake the rest near 90K's that would have been required to finish my journey.

I would recommend this area to anyone and I am thinking of heading back there after I visit Port Arthur this weekend. The road out to Mt Fields is a typical Tasmanian country road, plenty of corners and reasonable quality.

I am off to Port Arthur for a couple of days I intend doing some bush walking and I think I will attempt the ride out to Strathgordon
and camp for a few days at the Mt field National Park, apparently there is a night time self guided walk where there are glow worms and several more walking tracks I would like to tackle.
